Khadijah Byrd

Khadijah Byrd is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate. A graduate of SUNY New Paltz with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Black Studies, Khadijah completed her graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pfeiffer University. She has provided therapy in group settings, as well as with individuals, couples, and families. While attaining her graduate degree she worked with individuals suffering from trauma, identity issues, low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression; couples dealing with infidelity, financial strains, and other marital concerns; and women working through disordered eating, body image, and relationships with food. Her therapy style is narrative in nature, systemic, and strengths-based. She believes her role as a therapist is to join you where you are in your journey. Khadijah encourages you by being the author of your own story. In that, she sees the greatest lesson is being able to write and rewrite it as much as possible. Finding balance and adjusting to life’s role can be very challenging. By meeting you where you are, Khadijah’s goal is to help you reconnect with yourself and others. She provides a judgment-free, empathic, and empowering environment where healing can take place and a new story can be written. Khadijah specializes in anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, self-esteem, spirituality, marital and premarital issues, family conflict, peer relationships, and African American culture.
